Temple Tifereth Israel of Winthrop

Temple Tifereth Israel of Winthrop is an unaffiliated Jewish congregation. We provide a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for our congregants and visitors. The Congregation is committed to preserving Jewish values and traditions.

The Temple is located just north of Boston and is adjacent to East Boston, Logan Airport, Revere, and Chelsea. Winthrop has a population of approximately 20,000, is largely residential, and is a peninsula with the Atlantic Ocean to the East and Boston Harbor to the West.

President’s Message

Greetings to All,

Starting on 1 August, officially welcoming Rabbi Benjamin Flax, as the Temple’s Rabbi, and his wife, Adena, to TTI. We look forward to a long and productive association between the Rabbi, his wife, and our Temple.

Rabbi Flax was ordained at Yeshiva Pirchei Shoshanim. He will be officiating at the High Holy Days Services in September – the schedule and other information will be available very soon. We welcome and encourage you to participate in our High Holy Day observances. Let’s gather to not only fulfill a personal obligation but to share, celebrate, and confirm our commitment to our continuity as a Jewish People and our determination to preserve all that Judaism means to each of us individually and as a congregation.

As always, we encourage and appeal to you to support all that Temple Tifereth Israel is attempting to provide for its Congregation. Still, we need your help with ideas, PARTICIPATION, innovative programs and events, and – without a doubt – financial assistance.

Most of what takes place at the temple is on a volunteer basis. We are very fortunate and thank many members who willingly give their time.

The Temple relies heavily on donations to continue operating. Please donate in Honor of, in Memory of, in celebration of a birthday, graduation, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and for any other reason. Assist TTI with a generous donation.
